The other inmates “want blood" from the three men — Danel Fernandez, 21; Jose Muniz, 21 and Santiago Rodriguez, 24 — involved with Junior’s death on June 20, according to a report from Pix11. The trio is currently being held in the GRVC Building — a unit meant to house 50 inmates — at Rikers. Fernandez, Muniz, and Rodriguez belong to the Trinitarios gang, a violent New York-based organization composed of Dominican Americans.
The three men have received death threats while in prison, including some from other Trinitarios gang members.
“You have every Latin gang, including the Trinitarios, after them," a jail source said. “They brought a lot of heat to the Trinitarios gang, which is why they are making threats against their own right now."
Eight suspects have been arrested in Junior’s death.
The incident took place on June 20. The 15-year-old attempted to hide from his killers in a bodega in the Bronx as seen in surveillance footage from the bodega. When the attackers walk in the worker points out where Junior is hiding, and he gets dragged out of the store. Junior then comes back to the store bloodied. The worker again refuses to help. Junior then walks out of the bodega. The teen ended up dead outside of St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.
However, the owner of the bodega, Modesto Cruz, argued against the claim that he didn’t try to help Junior.
